Description
Amalia Home Collection's Alentejo collection takes its cue from the open agricultural landscapes of southern Portugal. Woven as a 430-thread-count sateen from Giza 94 Egyptian cotton, these shams have a smooth, cool hand, a soft sheen and a fluid drape.
An applied embroidered border finishes one side of each sham, a quiet frame against the smooth cotton. They dress the pillows at the head of the bed, layered in front of sleeping pillows. Sold as a pair, in White/Pearl and White/Midnight. Made in Portugal.

The Art of Sateen
Sateen is woven so that most of the yarn floats on the face of the cloth, passing over several threads before dipping under one. The result is a surface that catches light and feels smooth rather than crisp. Its quality depends on the yarn: Giza 94, a long-staple Egyptian cotton, spins into a fine, even thread that keeps the face of the fabric smooth and resists pilling as it is laundered.
